Camp Hi-Sierra, 1986. Boy Scout camp sounds like a big fat drag, but I had a blast at Hi-Sierra for three years. This picture might have been taken at a meeting of our Wilderness Survival merit badge class. They made us build shelters in the woods and sleep in them without sleeping bags. The idea was, obviously, to prepare you for a real-life situation, but it got too cold that night and they let us go back to our tents. That's Ryan behind me. Good old Ryan.
